Lenten Season Sundays

Easter and Lent.  Palm Sunday and Maundy Thursday. All things we hear in and around church.  But what do they have to do with our real lived lives?  What is the mission of our lives, as individuals and as a church and how can we understand this better during Lent?  Come be a part of our discussion on understanding God’s call to us during our Lenten season, ending with our celebration of Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Lenten Breakfasts

The Ministerial Association is again sponsoring a weekly breakfast during Lent.  The schedule is listed below and all are welcome to join us for breakfast and an inspirational message.  Local community members including Willie and Mary Sue Atchison, Kareen King, Will Kerns and a student member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be bringing the message.  The schedule is as follows:
March 29:  St. Patricks Catholic Church
           April 5:  Community Covenant Church
All breakfasts begin at 7 and a free will offering to support the Warmth Fund will be taken.

Lenten Bible Study

Join us for a 6-week study using video and resources from Robert Schnase’s book “Just Say Yes” we will study God’s intentions for today’s church in today’s culture and how we can be a part of that.  Facilitated by Pastor Alice we will look at the ways we say no to what God is calling us to and how to move into faithfully saying yes.  A great way to examine our own values and intentions as the body of Christ! Begins Sunday, March 5, at 6:30 pm in the church basement. For more information contact the church office 785-528-4443 or email

Potato Drop Blessing!

On April 8th we will be picking up 1000 lbs of potatoes from the United Methodist Men's Potato Drop at Susanna Wesley in Topeka. We will be blessing our Kids ROC family with part of the supply and want to invite our church to be conduits of blessing with the potatoes that remain.

On Sunday April 9th, which is also Palm Sunday we invite everyone to adopt at least 1 - Ten pound bag of potatoes to take to someone who you know would either be able to use them or would be blessed by your visit. Its a Spudtacular Way to share the love of Christ in this Lenten Season!
